Dr. Amber Da Silva is the owner of Mountain West Medical Writing. She attended Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2002. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Fort Collins, Colorado in 2007.

Since graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Da Silva has worked in small animal private practice. She has extensive knowledge and experience in internal medicine, general surgery, cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, dentistry, emergency medicine and surgery, oncology, behavior, nutrition, palliative care, geriatrics, parasitology, and zoonotic diseases.

Because of the breadth and depth of knowledge that is required for veterinary practice, Dr. Da Silva can easily adapt her experience to the human healthcare field. During her undergraduate education she was on a pre-medical track and much of her education focused on the human side of medicine. She was also a licensed emergency medical technician (EMT) during that time.

In 2018, she earned the Essential Skills Certificate through the American Medical Writers Association. Dr. Da Silva provides freelance writing and editing services that can be geared toward professionals or the general public.

In her spare time, Dr. Da Silva loves to spend time with her husband and kids. She enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, especially in the mountains. She also loves to read, play piano, explore new places, and eat good food.
